Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: January 1, 2025 Last Revised: May 2025 Version 1.0
01

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Enwek ("the Platform," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

These Terms apply to all visitors, registered users, domain owners, and any other party who accesses or interacts with Enwek in any manner.

Enwek is a platform for organizing the web into a structured, connected library of URLs. Using this Platform means you understand and accept its core mission of canonical link organization and community-driven discovery.
02

About Enwek

Enwek is a social internet platform that treats URLs as permanent, first-class objects. Rather than hosting repeated reposts of the same content, Enwek assigns a single canonical identity to each unique resource on the web, allowing community discussions, likes, saves, and reputation to accumulate in one unified place.

Key platform concepts include:

  • Canonical URLs — every submitted link is normalized and deduplicated into one permanent page.
  • URL Normalization — tracking parameters, redirects, shortened links, and AMP variants are resolved to a single canonical identity.
  • Topics — curated collections of related links organized around a theme or learning path.
  • Domain Ownership — verified domain owners have specific rights and responsibilities over URLs in their domain.
03

User Accounts

To submit URLs, comment, or create Topics, you must register an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information.
  • Keep your password secure and not share it with others.
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized account access.
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in spam, or otherwise harm the Platform or its community.

04

URL Submissions

When you submit a URL to Enwek, you understand and agree that:

  • The submitted URL will be normalized and may be merged with an existing canonical record if the Platform determines they resolve to the same resource.
  • Enwek may fetch, cache, and store a lightweight snapshot (title, description, preview image, and text excerpt) of the linked content for preservation and display purposes.
  • The canonical URL record, once created, is a permanent library object and may not be deleted by submitters.
  • You must not submit URLs to private, unauthorized, or illegal content.
  • Submission limits apply to new accounts to prevent abuse; these limits increase as you establish reputation on the Platform.
A URL is a public address on the internet. Submitting a publicly accessible URL to Enwek's library is analogous to indexing or citing it — it does not constitute republication of the underlying content.
05

Domain Owner Rights

Enwek provides a formal domain ownership verification system. Verified domain owners have the following rights over canonical URL records within their domain:

  • Snapshot removal — request removal of cached content (text excerpts, OG images) stored by Enwek in connection with their URLs.
  • Metadata correction — correct inaccurate titles or descriptions if the Platform's automated scrape produced incorrect information.
  • URL redirection updates — update a canonical record's active URL if content has been permanently moved to a new address. All prior URLs are retained in a transparent change history.
  • Deprecation marking — flag a URL as permanently removed or deprecated with an explanatory note visible to the community.
  • Snapshot opt-out — disable future snapshotting for specific URLs or their entire domain.

Verified domain owners do not have the right to:

  • Delete the canonical URL record or its community engagement history (comments, likes, saves, topic memberships).
  • Modify or remove user comments or discussions associated with their URLs.
  • Silently replace metadata without a logged change entry.
  • Transfer canonical URL reputation to an unrelated domain or resource.

All metadata changes made by domain owners are permanently logged with timestamps and are visible to the community via the URL's change history. Content drift — significant changes to the underlying content — is detected automatically and surfaced to users as a transparency notice.

Domain ownership is verified via DNS TXT record, HTML meta tag, or verification file. Ownership of a domain does not automatically transfer upon domain sale or acquisition; new owners must complete a fresh verification process.

06

Community Content

Comments, Topic descriptions, and other content you contribute to Enwek remain your intellectual property. By posting, you grant Enwek a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, store, and distribute your contributions as part of the Platform.

You are solely responsible for your contributions. You agree not to post content that is:

  • Defamatory, harassing, abusive, or threatening.
  • Spam, commercial solicitation, or repetitive noise.
  • Infringing on any third party's intellectual property rights.
  • Illegal, obscene, or harmful to minors.
  • Misinformation deliberately intended to deceive.

Enwek reserves the right to remove community content that violates these Terms, following review by our moderation team.

07

Intellectual Property

The Enwek name, logo, platform design, and all original software are owned by Enwek and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Enwek does not claim ownership of the content available at submitted URLs. Our canonical URL pages display metadata (title, description, preview) for identification and discussion purposes under principles consistent with fair use and standard web indexing practices.

If you believe any content on our Platform infringes your intellectual property rights, please refer to Section 9 (Takedowns & DMCA).

08

Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, spam filters, or reputation systems.
  • Submit URLs for the purpose of manipulating canonical reputation scores.
  • Impersonate a domain owner or falsely claim verification.
  • Use automated bots or scrapers against the Platform without written permission.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's infrastructure or other users' experience.
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or private data.
  • Submit URLs to content that is illegal in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia or under applicable international law.
09

Takedowns & DMCA

Enwek respects intellectual property rights. If you are a rights holder and believe that cached content on our Platform infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown request to legal@enwek.com with the following information:

  • Your contact information and a statement that you are the rights holder or authorized agent.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work and the specific Enwek URL page where the cached content appears.
  • A statement of good faith belief that the use is not authorized.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate.

Upon receipt of a valid takedown notice, we will remove the cached snapshot from our servers within 5 business days. The canonical URL record and community discussion layer will remain, but will display a notice indicating the snapshot was removed at the rights holder's request. The same URL may not be re-snapshotted without the rights holder's authorization.

For sensitive or private content (leaked documents, personal data, non-public materials), any user may submit a flag for expedited review, with a target response time of 24 hours.

10

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, the Platform, or third parties.

Upon termination, your ability to submit content, comment, or create Topics will be revoked. Your previously submitted URLs and community contributions will remain as part of the library, attributed to an anonymized account record, unless you have separately requested data deletion under our Privacy Policy.

11

Disclaimers

Enwek is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

12

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Enwek and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the Platform.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or USD 0, whichever is greater.

13

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Revised" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify registered users via email or a prominent Platform notice.

Continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Platform.
